My Books Journey! Around, I would say, August or September 95. Internet at the time was in its infancy.
We were one of the first in our area and definitely on our street to get it. November 94 was the first official connection from plain old regular BBs Public Bulletin Boards they used to be called.
Now, we had the superb browser called NETSCAPE and that was fun. Discovery was ours to have to see what the world offered via the World Wide Web.
Whereas our lives were simple. Get up every morning and go to work -- Government jobs with Secret Levels -- go out for dinner, planking ourselves in front of Tele and Friday nights were the same -- rewards for a long week of hard work -- another new fangle appliance the VHS player.
Our depanneur would give us a selection of 3 for 1, popcorn, drinks and next door to it -- dinner special -- pizza! Films we had watched on Tele only and films we had missed out which had been in the cinemas.
Then, after a few years, we decided to get our family going. Discussed how best it was for us to proceed, made decisions and went onto contract work -- well hubby did.
Once we had what we had always dreamed of, two munchkins -- our girl and boy. I was home full-time and I had to fill empty time with something creative. I got up, got kids at school and came back to our two dogs and just the Tele and VCR for company.
Internet, I used wherever I could -- man, it was slow back then -- truthfully!
Finally, I was working to upgrade a project begun when I was 12 -- got my genealogy files on my PC and used the internet to search for relatives. By summer of 95, we had our PC desk area in front of the Sliding Doors which were open regularly due to the place we lived at the time -- heat and sunshine daily.
I literally fell asleep at my desk one night and when I woke up, had the idea of a story. Created the genealogy file firstly. Lady Trieste and her family were born out of imagination.
As we say: "The rest is history!" Things went crazy in 97 and we went home. I still got onto the internet (eventually) and tidied up my books up i.e. getting the chapters in order.
Then, life turned weird -- 2001 -- needless to speak about this, you all know. By 2009, my health took a turn for the worst and stuck in bed, I wrote and wrote and wrote. Got hubby to read it all -- he said he loved it and to try and find a way to publish it.
Life online hasn't been a bed a roses. While Amazon and Kindle took off -- the rest of us were using Kobo and the Epub format -- that's where it got ugly.
Treated as a kid who knows nothing -- some 13 years old tells you what to do? Overall, by the time I began writing I was 35, had been married for 10 and had two children 6 and 5, by 2010 it was all done.
Being ignored and not taken seriously as an Author has been hurtful -- guys love my eBooks stories -- girls put it down. They expect a commercial-style story -- I don't do that. I've no interest in publishing traditionally, I'm not wanting to see my stories becoming someone else's idea of what it should be.
That's why I'm an Indie Author -- I use my knowledge of my years being a Document Specialist and using my education studies and notes -- Creative Writings -- I do things differently, I always did and by myself -- bottom line -- it's not perfect -- nothing ever is -- but, it's all me, the way I think, the way I look at the world around me and definitely the way and where I escape within the confines of my crazy imagination.
I've been writing since 1966 -- many good stories were destroyed because -- age inappropriate -- it was always clean but this kind of romance pirate style was frowned upon by schools authorities. Regardless, I got A's -- 13 A levels, two HNCs and one HND.
Proud of my achievements -- yes! Did I pay for them -- yes! Bullied and beaten, black and blue while ignored at home.
In conclusion, my stories are not standard -- far from it -- it's a multitude of bits and pieces that makes a whole -- there's romance, historical fiction and a touch of Sci-Fi. Vampires and Witches, one word Supernaturals -- their Origins.
The WynderMyre Memoirs is in Two Novels with a total of 10 Episodes -- ten eBooks that forms a whole. You'll love it or you won't -- if the former tell me -- if the latter, keep it to yourself after 20 years, I've enough of your put downs -- we are no longer in the classroom -- you're not the teacher grading my papers -- I'm applying what I've learned and at the end of the day -- it's my style! Enjoy!
